Where we come from...
Shallow Well Church began in 1831, when a preacher started meetings under a brush arbor near the site of our current building. When water was needed to nourish the congregation and its horses, a shallow well was discovered on the property only four feet deep. This providential blessing was so remarkable, the church was given the name "Shallow Well".

Where we were...
Shallow Well entered the twentieth century as a Congregationalist Church, eventually joining the United Church of Christ. As the church grew, many families remained in the church, choosing to raise multiple generations in the same place their forefathers worshiped God.
Where we are headed...
Shallow Well decided to maintain its longstanding adherence to the Bible and the ancient Creeds and Confessions of the Christian faith and left the United Church of Christ in 2021. Now as a Non-denominational church, we have the freedom to preach and teach the whole counsel of God found in the Scriptures. We purpose to make disciples through all events, programs, and ministries. The gospel is central to our lives and we are excited see where the Lord takes us in the coming years.
